Hey ya’ll!

As a fitness coach and a mom of 2 – soon to be 3! 🥰🥰 I understand the challenges of juggling daily responsibilities with staying fit. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and attempt to do too much too fast, only to burn out and lose motivation. Today, I want to talk about the importance of building consistent habits and share some tips on how to establish them. Trust me, this approach can make a world of difference, especially for us busy mamas!

But first of all, why do you think Consistent Habits matter?

When you build consistent habits, you create a foundation for sustainable progress. It’s not about drastic changes but about small, manageable steps that add up over time. This approach helps you avoid burnout and makes it easier to maintain your progress.

Trying to overhaul your lifestyle overnight can be incredibly stressful.  I’ve seen it time and time again.  Someone gets excited by starting their journey and does too much too fast.  Then life happens and they completely fall off and don’t know how to get back on track since they didn’t build a consistent habit slowly.

By focusing on one small change at a time, you reduce the pressure on yourself and make the process more enjoyable and less overwhelming. Habits are the building blocks of long-term success. When healthy behaviors become automatic, you’re more likely to stick with them, leading to lasting change and a healthier, happier you.

How to Build Consistent Habits

1.Start Small

BJ Fogg, author of "Tiny Habits," emphasizes starting with the smallest possible habit. For example, if you want to incorporate exercise into your daily routine, begin with just 5 minutes a day. The key is to make it so small that it’s impossible to fail.

2. Make it Attractive

James Clear, author of "Atomic Habits," suggests making your new habits attractive. Find a way to pair your new habit with something you enjoy. If you love listening to music, create a workout playlist that you only listen to while exercising.

3. Set a Trigger

Identify a specific trigger that prompts your new habit. For instance, if you want to start a morning workout routine, link it to an existing habit like brushing your teeth. This creates a seamless transition into your new habit.

4. Celebrate Small Wins

Acknowledge and celebrate your small wins. This positive reinforcement makes you more likely to repeat the behavior. Whether it’s a mental pat on the back or a tangible reward, celebrating your progress is crucial.

5. Most of All, Be Patient

Building consistent habits takes time. Be patient with yourself and understand that progress is a journey. Stay committed to your small steps, and over time, they will lead to significant changes.
