Isn't it wild how many snacks advertised for toddlers are packed with added sugars and all sorts of ingredients you can't even pronounce? As a mom, I’m always on a mission to keep things as natural as possible when it comes to feeding my kids, but let's be real—it's not always easy! Sure, fruit is a go-to, but we all know that variety is key. Our little ones need a good mix of protein and calcium too, especially from sources like dairy, to keep them growing strong and healthy.

So, let's talk about some of my favorite pre-packaged snacks that keep things simple, without all the unnecessary extras. If you’re like me, you’ll love these snack options that are either low in sugar or completely sugar-free. Perfect for busy moms on the go!

My Favorite Costco Finds

I wanted to share my top snacks that my kiddos absolutely love—they’re not only delicious but also packed with protein and fiber! I've done a little snack sleuthing at Costco (and don't worry, you can find most of these at your local grocery store too!). Here’s a peek at some of my top picks:

That’s It Mini Fruit Bars

What you see is what you get!  It's completely free of the top 12 allergens, has no preservatives, and zero added sugars. Plus, it’s high in fiber, which is a big win for the kiddos. It’s a fantastic, guilt-free replacement for those sugar-loaded fruit bars that are all too common. Simple, wholesome, and totally kid-approved!

Calbee Harvest Snaps

These are a household favorite—my kiddos love them, and I’m obsessed too! They’re not just a great source of fiber, but they also pack a punch with 5 grams of protein per serving. Perfect for road trips or tossing into snack packs on the go, this big bag is a must-have for any busy family!

Organic Valley Stringles

Here’s another snack that's a winner in our house—a fantastic source of protein with 7 grams per serving! Plus, it’s loaded with calcium, which is exactly what the kiddos need to support their growing bones.

Mush Oatmeal

It’s so tasty, with no added sugar, and packs an impressive 5-6 grams of protein per serving. We absolutely love it!

Once Upon A Farm

I love this brand so much! I am so excited when Costco starts carrying these. A great way for them to sneak in a little veggie, a littl[e bit of fruit. No added sugar and the kids love them!

Nature’s Turn Freeze Dried Fruit Crisps

no added sugar and so easy on the go!

Chobani Less Sugar Greek Yogurt

This is a good quick option, but there is some added sugar, but not as much as the regular chobani packages.  I usually opt for the regular greek yogurt in a big tub and just scoop some into a bowl with some local honey and fruit!

A Special Shoutout: Feeding Littles Lunches

Speaking of snacks, my friends over at Feeding Littles have just released an incredible new book, “Feeding Littles Lunches!” They were kind enough to send me an early copy, and let me tell you, it’s packed with no-stress ideas that are perfect for even the pickiest eaters.

I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find snacks that your kids love and that are actually good for them. But with a little creativity and the right options, you can keep them healthy, full, and happy.

So here's to keeping snack time simple, healthy, and delicious! What's your favorite go-to snack for the kiddos? Let me know in the comments!
