Aluna’s Favorite Toys During Her First 6 Months
Our whole family is obsessed with all the Lovevery Toys! If you’re not familiar with Lovevery, they are a stage and development based subscription model, with the most aesthetically pleasing and fun toys. If you don’t want to think and research, I highly recommend investing in their Playkits! If you’re not ready to commit, The Play Gym is a great item to start with. A friend gave us another play gym from a different gym, and we only used that one for a few months. Aluna still plays with her Lovevery Play Gym, even as an active crawler! The thing I love most about their products is they come with a guide on your child’s development and how you can use the product to help your child learn!
First 12 Weeks: This stage was all about the fun black and white contrast cards, books, and playmat!
Lovevery’s first 12 Weeks Play Kit has all the essentials: Black & White Cards/Books/Mittens, Rattle, and Sensory Links.
This Black & White Book stands up on it’s own and is so great for tummy time!
Months 3-4: Aluna was way more aware of her hands, so she was chewing on them and grabbing things and putting them near her mouth!
Lovevery’s 3-4 Month Play Kit included her first Mirror + She STILL loves it. On the back of it, it has a high contrast photo, too. It also came with a crinkle paper that she was obsessed it + colorful soft book that you could insert the included high contrast cards / mirror (+the ones from the 0-12 kit). There was also a wooden rattle and a rolling bell toy that she still plays with! Plus more goodies
This Mushroom Suction Toy is such a big hit, still.
Sophie the Giraffe You’ll see almost every single kid has this thing, and I personally don’t see the appeal, but Aluna loves hers!
Sensory Ball Black & White Contrast, Colors, Different Textures, Noises, it has it all! This was a favorite
Grapple This is more so a great toy for parents lol. It suctions on to surfaces and you can attach toys to it so they don’t fall on the ground!
Toy Bar if you have a bouncer seat or something your baby can lean back in, I highly recommend getting some sort of Toy Bar for them to play with!
Months 5-6: This is when she really started to interact with her toys! It was so fun to see!
Lovevery’s 5-6 Month Play Kit was one of my favorites so far! I remember texting my best friend (who also has a baby a few months older) and saying “OMG how do these kits get better and better?!” The Magic Tissue Box is so cool! What a great concept since you definitely don’t want your baby eating real tissues. The Spinning Rainbow toy was something I was so excited to see Aluna figure out. There was a fun rainbow ball, socks with bells on them (so cute!), a “Parts of Me” book, and a tummy time wobbler.
Skip Hop Activity Center : OMG seeing Aluna bounce around in this thing was my favorite thing ever!!!!!!!!! This was also a great way to keep her entertained if you needed to do something real quick. (It’s not recommended to leave them in there for an extended period of time for development purposes) It was so cool to see her development of “Cause and Effect” - like the owl popping out of the tree truck when she hit the leaf. So much happiness. Now that she’s super active, we set it up as a table for her to play on.
Skip Hop Crawling Bee : Aluna was already tracking the Roomba before this, and this toy is the fun version of a Roomba. lol! She was SO fascinated by the lights on this one before she could actually crawl. It has two different settings where it can just go in a circle, and then one where it goes wherever it wants. When you remove the bee from it’s base, it stops and makes a noise, and she would feel so accomplished that she got it. Now that she can crawl fast, she always gets so excited when I turn it on and chases it!
Manhattan Teething Toy: This one is so fun for her to grab and chew on…and you can attach it to the Grapple :)
