Top Toys for 1 Year Old
The past few months have been a really fun age! Aluna is more and more curious about animals and the world around her. We have found that pretty much everything is interesting to her, but these are the things that have made her world a little more fun!
First 100 Animals: This book was given to us by one of my co-workers, and she is OBSESSED this book more than any other one we have. It’s got a hard cushy cover, with thick pages that is easy for baby to turn. We’ve been flipping through the pages while making all the noises that the animals make, and it’s so cute how she loves to “rawr” like a lion now!
Lovevery Target Felt Nesting Baskets: I am so excited Lovevery is now available at Target and that you can get these felt nesting baskets. They are so adorable and Aluna loves to stack and put stuff in them or these Mushie stacking cups - these make sounds when she clanks them together and she also

Learning Tower / Step Stool: In general, you need one of these. It’s so hard to find the one that you want because there are so many options. I ended up going with this one because it was inexpensive and simple and one of my co-workers already had vetted it! We even added some left over wall paper from Aluna’s playroom to give it a little extra flair
I Love You Match-Up Puzzles: We have the Jungle Babies, and Aluna is always bringing the box of these over to us. She loves the animals, especially the Lion, of course!
Music Instruments - We have music dance parties before bed every night, and then Aluna cleans up and puts her instruments away before we settle down. There are a ton that come in this kit, so we put all of them in a basket that they live in. Aluna loves to grab a different instrument every night, and sometimes she brings us ones she wants us to play with!
Play Shopping Cart - Now that Aluna is walking a lot, she is always pushing her shopping cart around and putting EVERYTHING in it. Babies love to “collect” things lol
Lovevery Play Kits - So once baby turns 1, the Lovevery Playkits come every 3 months instead of every 2. I love seeing Aluna interact with these kits, it’s so fun to see how excited she gets when she figures out a toy!
Foamnasium Couch or Tumblers - Aluna is always climbing over EVERYTHING nowadays, and these are fun for her to lay on, climb on, or move around! She sometimes even moves it to get on our couch easier :)
Anything and everything BUBBLES: If you want to get an electric one, I highly recommend getting one that looks like an animal or something fun. We have a dog and pineapple, and she’s alwayas carrying them around handing them to use and saying “bubble!”
When it really comes down to it, Aluna just loves to do what I am doing, so whether it’s cleaning the dishes, doing the laundry, mopping the floor, she wants to be part of it. It’s been fun having her involved with everything we do, and the toys are just there for when we need a second to rest :)
